Kassapa Saṃyutta

The sixteenth section of the Saṃyuttanikāya (S.ii.192‑225). It contains various suttas connected with Mahā-Kassapa (q.v. for details). Mahā-Kassapa’s verses in the Theragāthā reflect the sentiments contained in these suttas. The discussion on the mundane aspects of the four right efforts (sammappadhānā), as given in the Kassapa Saṃyutta, is referred to in the commentaries. e.g., VibhA.291.
