King of Sri Lanka (circa 1542 A.C.) He succeeded Vijayabāhu VI and claimed descent from Sirisaṅghabodhi. He lived in Sirivaḍḍhanapura (modern Kandy), built eighty-six dwelling houses for the monks and had the Tipiṭaka copied. He went on a pilgrimage to Mahiyaṅgana and Samantakūṭa. He cultivated a rice field himself, and, from the produce, gave alms. Cv.xcii.6 ff.
