Vassa Sutta

1. Vassa Sutta.– Just as rain, falling on mountain tops, flows into gullies, pools, great lakes and rivers and from there into the ocean, so do the virtues of the Noble Disciple flow onwards and lead to the destruction of the corruptions (āsava). S.v.396.

2. Vassa Sutta.– On five things that stop rain: the fiery element raging in the upper air, the windy element, Rāhu catches the water with his hand and scatters it into the ocean, the indolence of the rain deities, the wickedness of human beings. A.iii.243.
