Satti Sutta

1. Satti Sutta.– At Sāvatthi. A devatā approaches the Blessed One and utters a verse saying that a monk should wander mindfully to abandon sensual desire (kāmarāga). The Buddha replies that he should wander mindfully to abandon personality-view (sakkāyadiṭṭhi). S.i.12.

2. Satti Sutta.– Mahā-Moggallāna tells the Buddha about a hungry ghost he has seen with spears for hairs that keep striking its body. The Buddha confirms it and says that the ghost was formerly a deer hunter in Rājagaha. S.ii.257.

3. Satti Sutta.– Attempts to overthrow a mind that had developed liberation of the heart through loving-kindness are as futile as the attempt to double up a sharp spear with the hand or fist. S.ii.265.
