Mahāpaññā Sutta (Vagga)

1. Mahāpaññā Vagga.– A group of thirteen very similar discourses about the four things leading to great wisdom (mahāpaññā), increase of wisdom (puthupaññā), broad wisdom (vipulapaññā), profound wisdom (gambhīrapaññā), vigilant wisdom (appamattapaññā), extensive wisdom (bhūripaññā), abundant wisdom (paññābāhulla), swift wisdom (sīghapaññā), quick wisdom (lahupaññā), joyful wisdom (hāsapaññā), rapid wisdom (javanapaññā), sharp wisdom (tikkhapaññā), penetrative wisdom (nibbedhikapaññā) (S.v.412 ff)

2. Mahāpaññā Sutta.– Association with good men (sappurisa-saṃsevo), listening to the Dhamma (saddhammassavanaṃ), systematic attention (yonisomanasikāro), and living in accordance with the training (dhammānudhammappaṭipatti) — these four conduce to great wisdom. S.v.412.

3. Nibbedhikapaññā Sutta.– Association with good men, listening to the Dhamma, systematic attention, and living in accordance with the training — these four conduce to penetrative wisdom. S.v.413.
