A city in the Kaṃsa district in Uttarāpatha and capital of King Mahākaṃsa and the Andhakavenhudāsaputta (J.iv.79; PvA.111).

It was also the birthplace of the two merchants Tapassu and Bhalluka. AA.i.207.
