Ambiḷahāra Vihāra

A monastery in Sri Lanka.

On one occasion Tipiṭaka Cūḷanāga Thera taught there the Mahā­saḷayatanika Sutta.

The audience of men was one quarter of a league (gāvuṭa) in extent, and that of gods a league.

At the end of the discourse a thousand monks became Arahants. MA.ii.1025.
