Ekamūla Sutta

A certain deity approaches the Blessed One while he was dwelling in the Jetavana grove at Sāvatthi and praises him in verse:

“The sage has crossed the abyss,¹ with its one root,² two whirlpools,³ three stains,⁴ five extensions,⁵ an ocean,⁶ and twelve currents.”⁷
