Saṃyojanappahāna Sutta

1. Saṃyojanapahāna Sutta.– A certain monk approaches the Blessed One at Sāvatthi and asks him how the fetters come to be abandoned.

The Buddha tells him to see the eye, forms, eye-consciousness, eye-contact, and feelings born of eye-contact as impermanent.  To see the ear … nose … tongue … body … mind, mental objects, mind-consciousness, mental contact, and feelings born of mental contact as impermanent.  S.iv.31.

2. Saṃyojanappahāna Sutta.– Mindfulness of breathing when developed and cultivated leads to the abandoning of the fetters. S.v.340.
