Samudaya Sutta

1. Samudaya Sutta.– Worldlings (puthujjana) do not know the arising, cessation, satisfaction, danger, or escape regarding body, feelings, perceptions, mental formations, and consciousness. S.iii.82, S.iii.174.

2. Samudaya Sutta.–  Monks, I will teach you the arising and passing away of the four foundations of mindfulness.

What monks, is the arising of the body? With the arising of nutriment the body arises, with the cessation of nutriment the body passes away.

With the arising of contact, feeling arises, With the cessation of contact, feeling passes away.

With the arising of mind and matter, consciousness arises. With the cessation of mind and matter, consciousness ceases.

With the arising of attention, mental objects (dhammānaṃ) arise. With the cessation of attention, mental objects pass away. S.v.184.
